Natalie Spooner | PWHL

Natalie Spooner has long been one of the top forwards in the world. She was the PWHL’s scoring champion in the inaugural season of the league scoring 20 goals and 27 points in 24 games. Spooner was named the PWHL’s Most Valuable Player and Best Forward for the league’s opening season. The Toronto Sceptres selected the right winger in the 4th round, 23rd overall in the inaugural PWHL Draft.

Prior to college, Spooner won silver with Canada at the U-18 World Championships. At the NCAA level, Spooner spent four seasons with Ohio State. While playing for the Buckeyes, Spooner scored 100 goals and 163 goals in 128 games.

Spooner’s real success has come on the international stage being a cornerstone member of Team Canada. With the Canadian national team, she’s won two Olympic gold medals and multiple World Championship gold. She’s twice been named a World Championship All-Star. Her performance during the 2023-2024 earned Spooner recognition as the IIHF Female Player of the Year.
