Kristen Campbell | PWHL

Kristen Campbell is a goaltender from Brandon, Manitoba. She has been one of the top goaltenders in the world since stepping into the NCAA, and now plays in the PWHL with the Toronto Sceptres.

Prior to the NCAA, Campbell won silver as a member of Canada’s U-18 national team at the 2015 U-18 World Championships. Her next stop was the NCAA with North Dakota, however, after two seasons at the school, she transferred to Wisconsin when North Dakota folded their women’s hockey team. At Wisconsin, Campbell was the back-to-back WCHA Goaltender of the Year in 2018 and 2019. She was also named a Second Team All-American in each of those seasons.

Campbell turned pro in 2020-2021 joining the PWHPA. In 2022-2023 she backstopped Team Scotiabank to a Dream Gap Tour title. Campbell has been a member of Team Canada winning Olympic gold in 2022 and three World Championship gold medals. Campbell has not played a game with Canada at the IIHF level, predominantly serving as Canada’s third goalie during that stretch.

After Toronto selected Campbell in the third round, 14th overall. Campbell signed a three-year contract with the Toronto Sceptres, and in the PWHL’s inaugural season was named a First Team All-Star and named the PWHL’s Goaltender of the Year.
