Emma Maltais | PWHL

Born on January 20, 2000, in Milton, Ontario, Emma Maltais is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. She was drafted in the second round, 11th overall by PWHL Toronto in the inaugural 2023 PWHL Draft.

Prior to her college career, Maltais won two silver medals with Canada’s U-18 national team. Maltais played for the Ohio State Buckeyes before transitioning to the professional level. Twice Maltais was named a Patty Kazmaier finalist and she was a Second Team All-American in 2020. In five seasons with Ohio State’s women’s hockey team, Emma Maltais scored 206 points in 169 games.

In her senior season with Ohio State, Maltais made her Canadian senior national team debut at the IIHF World Championships winning gold. Maltais has already won multiple World Championship gold medals and won gold at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Following the conclusion of her NCAA career, Maltais was selected in the second round of the PWHL Draft by PWHL Toronto. She immediately signed a three-year contract with Toronto and was named to the PWHL’s All-Rookie team during the 2024 season. Maltais currently plays for the Toronto Sceptres.
