Aerin Frankel is a professional women’s hockey netminder from Chappaqua, New York. Frankel is currently the goaltender for the PWHL’s Boston Fleet.
Prior to the NCAA, Frankel played for Shattuck St. Mary’s. At the school, Frankel won USA Hockey national titles in 2015 at the 16-U level and 2016 and 2017 at the U-19 level.
Joining Northeastern University in 2017-18, Frankel quickly became one of the best goalies in collegiate women’s hockey. In 2018-19 Frankel won her first Hockey East Goaltender of the Year honor. She would repeat as the champion in 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22. At Northeastern, Frankel was a three-time First Team All-American, and was the NCAA’s national Goaltender of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
Internationally, Frankel has represented Team USA at multiple World Championships backstopping the nation to gold in 2023. It was her first gold with Team USA. That year she took over the starting role for. USA’s national team.
Professionally, Frankel joined the PWHPA for the 2022-23 season playing for Team Adidas. She was one of the inaugural players signed to the PWHL inking a three-year deal with PWHL Boston. Frankel was named a PWHL Second Team All-Star in her first season in the league. Aerin Frankel continues to play for the Boston Fleet.
