Abby Boreen | PWHL

Abby Boreen is a professional women’s hockey player from Somerset, Wisconsin. She currently plays for the PWHL’s Montreal Victoire.

Boreen grew up playing high school hockey at Hill-Murray in Minnesota. From there she went on to spend five seasons playing for the University of Minnesota women’s hockey team. In her final two seasons with the Gophers, including captaining the team as a graduate, Boreen recorded 95 points in 75 games.

Prior to the launch of the PWHL, Boreen chose to pursue her education in pharmacy. Due to her status as a full time student, Boreen had to bypass the inaugural PWHL Draft, but was able to sign as a reserve with PWHL Minnesota. As a reserve, Boreen made an immediate impact scoring four goals and five points in nine games. She also appeared in five postseason games helping PWHL Minnesota win the inaugural Walter Cup.

After her season as a reserve, Boreen declared for the 2024 PWHL Draft. At the draft she was selected 17th overall by the Montreal Victoire. Abby Boreen remains a current member of the Victoire.
