Alex Carpenter is a professional women’s hockey player from North Reading, Massachusetts. She currently plays for the PWHL’s New York Sirens.
Carpenter was twice named Best Forward at the U-18 World Championships in 2011 and 2012. USA and Carpenter won two silver and a gold with USA’s U-18 team.
In four seasons with Boston College, Carpenter amassed 278 points in 150 games. A three-time All-American, Carpenter won the 2015 Patty Kazmaier Award as NCAA women’s hockey’s best player. Carpenter remains the program’s all-time leading scorer.
Turning pro in 2016-2017, Carpenter was an NWHL All-Star and led the league in assists as a rookie playing with the Boston Pride. Following that season, Carpenter spent two seasons in the CWHL playing for the Kunlun Red Star and KRS Shenzhen Vanke Rays. Following the dissolution of the CWHL, Carpenter stayed with KRS playing the next two seasons in Russia’s ZhHL. In Russia, Carpenter won the league scoring title in back-to-back seasons and was league MVP in 2020.
The following season Carpenter returned to North America joining the PWHPA, where in 2022-23 she played for Team Scotiabank.
Internationally, Carpenter has surpassed the double digit mark for medals while representing Team USA. Carpenter has won several World Championship gold medals and Olympic silver medals. At the 2024 World Championships, Carpenter led the tournament in scoring and was the tournament’s Best Forward.
Alex Carpenter was an inaugural signing of the New York Sirens in 2023. She inked a three-year deal with the team. In the 2024 PWHL season, Carpenter was a PWHL First Team All-Star.
