Hayley Scamurra is a winger from Buffalo, New York, who currently plays for the PWHL’s Toronto Sceptres. Scamurra entered the league as a draft pick of PWHL Ottawa. In the inaugural 2023 draft, Ottawa chose Scamurra in the fifth round, 29th overall.
After her first season in Ottawa, Scamurra was part of an early season blockbuster trade. The deal sent Scamurra, alongside Savannah Harmon, to the Toronto Sceptres in exchange for Jocelyne Larocque and Victoria Bach.
Scamurra spent her NCAA career at Northeastern University where she recorded 111 points in 123 career games. Upon the completion of her NCAA career, Scamurra turned pro with the NWHL’s Buffalo Beauts. With Buffalo she won an Isobel Cup title in 2017. In 2018, her first full season in the league, Scamurra was named the Newcomer of the Year and Rookie of the Year. She spent two full seasons playing for the Buffalo Beauts before jumping to the PWHPA. She spent the next three seasons with the PWHPA, winning a Dream Gap Tour title with Team Harvey’s in 2023.
Internationally, Scamurra has won multiple gold medals at the World Championships with Team USA. She first represented USA at the Olympics, winning silver in 2022.
