Sarah Fillier is a professional women’s hockey player from Georgetown, Ontario. She was the first overall pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft and currently plays for the New York Sirens.
Prior to college, Fillier won silver and bronze as a member of Canada’s U-18 national team. In 2018, she captained Canada at the U-18 World Championships. At the NCAA level, Fillier played for the Princeton Tigers. She captained Princeton for three seasons. In her first NCAA season, Fillier was named the national NCAA Rookie of the Year. Fillier was a three-time All-American and Patty Kazmaier finalist.
In 2021, Fillier joined Canada’s senior national team winning her first World Championship gold medal. Fillier was named to the World Championship All-Star team in both 2022 and 2023. In 2023 she was named tournament MVP and Best Forward. Fillier also won her first Olympic gold medal in 2022.
At the 2024 PWHL Draft, Sarah Fillier was the first overall pick by the New York Sirens. Fillier immediately stepped into the Sirens’ lineup making an impact after signing a one-year contract with the team.
