Shay Maloney | PWHL

Shay Maloney is a professional women’s hockey player from McHenry, Illinois. The forward currently plays for the PWHL’s Boston Fleet.

Maloney spent her youth playing for the Chicago Young Americans before committing to Brown University. Maloney was a cornerstone for Brown captaining the team in 2021-22. For her final season in the NCAA, Maloney transferred to Quinnipiac. At Quinnipiac, she had the best offensive season of her NCAA career totalling 15 goals and 31 points in 40 games.

After the NCAA, Maloney turned pro in Sweden with Leksands IF in the SDHL. That year she scored 20 points in 36 games. Known as a tough two-way player, Maloney’s play drew interest from the PWHL.

At the 2024 PWHL Draft, Shay Maloney was chosen in the sixth round, 34th overall by the Boston Fleet.
