We’re a barrier-free network of writers and content creators. We’re always looking for new contributors with a journalistic mind who are interested in going beyond the scoreboard and tell stories about women’s hockey players, teams, organizations, and leagues.
Where are we looking for writers?
Anywhere. The world of digital journalism has erased the need for you to live somewhere specific. That said, we’re always interested in adding writers in PWHL markets like Boston, Minnesota, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and New York. Similarly, if you live in an NCAA hotbed, we want to hear from you. Finally, Dub Hockey is always looking to expand our global coverage, so if you have mastery of the English language and are living overseas, reach out.
What do we expect from our writers?
First and foremost, we want quality writing from individuals who act ethically, showcase inclusion for all readers and athletes, and can show initiative. Experience is always a benefit, but experience can come in many ways, and we’re not afraid to coach new writers.
Another important aspect in our organization is that we are here for the “W,” and we want you to be too. If you’re a writer looking for a “stepping stone” into men’s hockey media coverage, this is not the place for you. We want writers who love women’s sports and women’s hockey, and who are interested in helping us grow the game, and create a sustainable and vibrant media ecosystem for the sport.
Still interested?
If you’re still interested, reach out! Send us an email to dubhockeynews@gmail.com with a little about yourself (including your social handles), a writing sample if you have one (links are fine), and let us know what focus, if any, you’re most interested in writing about.
