PWHL Boston began their inaugural season playing at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. The team’s first captain was American hockey legend Hilary Knight. In the 2023 Draft, Boston made Alina Muller their first ever selection, 3rd overall. Boston was part of the first ever PWHL trade sending Sophie Jaques to Minnesota in exchange for Susanna Tapani and Abby Cook. They made another deal at the PWHL trade deadline swapping Shiann Darkangelo with Ottawa in exchange for Lexie Adzija and the rights to Caitrin Lonergan. With the playoffs approaching in year one, Boston sat well outside the postseason race. The team won five straight games heading into playoffs, and carried that momentum forward. They finished the 2024 season with an 8-4-3-9 record. Boston swept PWHL Montreal in the opening round of playoffs, before taking PWHL Minnesota to five games in the Walter Cup finals. Boston eventually fell to Minnesota.
2024-25 PWHL Season
Boston used their first round pick at the 2024 PWHL Draft to select American national team member Hannah Bilka. They signed defender Emma Greco as a free agent, and also brought in free agents Jillian Dempsey and Klara Peslarova.
