The PWHL is handing out supplemental discipline to a pair of players. The league suspended Minnesota Frost forward Britta Curl-Salemme one game, and fined Toronto Sceptres defender Renata Fast $250.
Both supplemental disciplinary actions came after reviews from the PWHL Player Safety Committee. The suspension and fine come from incidents during a game between Minnesota and Toronto on March 9, 2025.
According to the PWHL, the suspension for Britta Curl-Salemme came due to an elbow to Toronto defender Megan Carter.
“At 12:06 of the second period, the Player Safety Committee determined that Curl-Salemme extended her elbow upward and outward as she delivered a high hit on opponent Megan Carter, making her head the main point of contact,” the PWHL wrote in a league press release. The suspension came due to Curl-Salemme’s violation of Rule 48 regarding checks to the head. It is her second suspension of the season.
Fast was fined for a cross checking incident in the opening period of that game. Her stick made contact with Kendall Coyne Schofield, with the action going unpenalized during the game itself. It’s the first supplementary discipline against Fast in her PWHL career.
