The PWHL playoff picture is coming into view with three teams knowing their fate.
The Montreal Victoire and Toronto Sceptres have each clinched playoff spots. At the other end of the spectrum, the New York Sirens are officially eliminated. They have started to accumulate draft order points winning their first game after elimination.
It leaves Minnesota, Boston, and Ottawa fighting for two remaining playoff spots.
Minnesota is currently in fifth looking in from the outside. The Frost have two games remaining, and a regulation loss in either would see them eliminated.
The good news for Minnesota is, the two games remaining are against the teams directly ahead of them, Boston and Ottawa.
For Boston to make the playoffs, they need a single win. The game goes for Ottawa who needs a single win to secure their spot.
Or, Boston or Ottawa could beat Minnesota. The options appear numerous and heavily favour a playoff picture involving both the Ottawa Charge and Boston Fleet, but that’s not to count out the reigning Walter Cup champions.
First place overall in the PWHL is also still up for grabs with Montreal and Toronto vying for top spot and the opportunity to choose their opening round opponent in the 2025 PWHL Playoffs.
