Canada’s capital will host the 2025 PWHL Draft. The Draft will take place June 24 at 7pm at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Top propects for the 2025 PWHL Draft include Krystina Kaltounkova, Casey O’Brien, Haley Winn, Nicole Gosling, Natalie Mlynkova, and Rory Guilday. There remains question marks around Abbey Murphy, the likely first overall pick if she declares, and top ten prospect Lacey Eden.

The 2025 PWHL Draft will be sponsored by Upper Deck.

The PWHL Draft declaration period is currently underway opening in early March and running until May 8. While many players have made their intentions known, others including Murphy and Eden are in question. Those question marks also extend to players currently in Europe. One of Europe’s top prospects, Viivi Vainikka took herself off the market this offseason signing with Brynas in Sweden. There are however, players including Michelle Karvinen, Sara Hjalmarsson, and Andrea Brandli who could still declare.

Currently, the main stumbling block for players to declare for the PWHL Draft is knowing whether or not the PWHL plans to expand.

PWHL expansion would mean more money available for top draft picks and also create more roster spots across the league.
