Season-By-Season History

2024 Season

The Ottawa Charge were part of the PWHL’s inaugural six teams and immediately had one of the strongest fan bases in the league. Ottawa, playing out of TD Place Arena, were the first PWHL team to break the all-time professional women’s hockey regular season attendance record drawing 8,295 fans for their first ever home game. The team led the PWHL in average attendance during the league’s inaugural season averaging 7,496 fans in 12 home games. Ottawa spent the bulk of the inaugural season in a playoff spot before missing the postseason in the final days of the season. Injuries were a major impact on Ottawa’s first year. Ottawa completed two trades during their first season, both taking place on the trade deadline day. Their first trade sent defender Amanda Boulier to Montreal in exchange for forward Tereza Vanisova. The second deal sent forward Lexie Adzidja and the rights to Caitrin Lonergan to Boston in exchange for forward Shiann Darkangelo. Ottawa finished fifth overall with an 8-1-6-9 record.

2024-25 Season

Prior to the PWHL’s second season, Ottawa added to their lineup selected Canadian national team member Danielle Serdachny second overall, and Finnish national team member Ronja Savolainen in the second round of the PWHL Draft. Ottawa also signed free agents Rebecca Leslie and Alexa Vasko who spent the previous season in Toronto. Early in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Charge completed a blockbuster trade sending Savannah Harmon and Hayley Scamurra to the Toronto Sceptres for Jocelyne Larocque and Victoria Bach.
