The PWHL handed down a pair of suspensions as supplemental discipline this week. Montreal Victoire defender Kati Tabin will miss two of her team’s remaining three games for a hit against New York Sirens forward Jessie Eldridge.
Tabin was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct on the ice. According to the PWHL Player Safety Committee, “Tabin extended her right elbow outward when delivering a high and forceful check, and that the head was the main point of contact on the play where such contact was avoidable.”
For Tabin, it’s her first PWHL suspension.
Boyd, an Ottawa Charge defender, received a one game suspension for a cross check to the head of Boston Fleet forward Alina Müller. The Player Safety Committee deeme d that “Boyd extended her stick to deliver a forceful cross check to the head while her opponent was in a vulnerable position.”
Both players will miss the first PWHL game back following the international break scheduled to take place April 26.
