Mackenzie Alexander was a unanimous selection for the 2024-25 ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team after leading the ECAC in scoring and finishing 11th in the nation while starring for Princeton.
Cornell’s Lindzi Avar was the only other unanimous selection at forward. Avar scored 13 goals in 22 league games, and as the ECAC’s news release stated, “Avar was a driving force behind Cornell’s regular season title.”
Joining Alexander and Avar in receiving ECAC All-Rookie women’s hockey honours were Union’s Karianne Engelbert and Brown’s Monique Lyons up front.
On the blueline Quinnipiac’s Makayla Watson and Princeton’s Rosie Klein, were the choices. Klein finished second in the ECAC with 53 blocked shots this season,
In net, Dartmouth’s Michaela Hesová, a member of Czechia’s senior national team emerged as the unanimous choice for the All-Rookie goaltender. Hesová was second in the league in saves per game, averaging nearly 30 per contest. A native of Prague, Czech Republic, Hesová led all ECAC goaltenders with 651 saves in league play and was fifth nationally in all games with 818 saves.
