The PWHL could see significant shuffling this offseason. Only a handful of players traded places early in free agency last summer including the likes of Daryl Watts, Emma Greco, Rebecca Leslie, and Alexa Vasko. Many others joined the shuffle at training camp. This offseason, the list of potential PWHL free agents is longer, with more star power as players who were signed to two-year contracts prior to the inaugural season see their deals expire.

Couple the dozens of players set to hit the open market with potential expansion, and the number of players changing teams could be on the rise

Among the top free agents set to hit the open market are top 20 PWHL scorers including Hannah Miller, Susanna Tapani, Tereza Vanisova, Michela Cava, and Jesse Compher. 2024 PWHL MVP Natalie Spooner is also scheduled to become a free agent.

On the back end, defenders including Kati Tabin, Jincy Roese, and Kali Flanagan are scheduled to be free agents. Depth in net remains strong across the PWHL, but teams can look to Maddie Rooney or Elaine Chuli, among others, to bolster their crease.
